Paradigma lets the user specify a filter of up to 256 "find/replace" rules to be used in parallell. A rule consists of a "find" string and a "replace" string, both may be up to 10 characters long. Due to speed maximisation, each character in a "find" rule takes up ca. 1.5k of memory. There must be a smarter way to do this... Paradigms are stored as resources in the application file. They can be moved between copies of Paradigma by using "Import paradigms…" from the File menu. If your Paradigm is too big, try splitting it up and run successively on the file. Any ascii code may be included in a "find/repace" rule, by entering the ascii number in brackets. Ex: linefeed = [10]. Returns and tabs are also available by pressing their keys, and represented by "\r" and "\t". Backslash itself looks like "\=". Be sure you have free disk space equal the size of the file to be converted, as the program does not check for this. Also, Paradigma is not guaranteed to work 100% correctly; use it on your own risk. If you want to convert a formatted MS-Word document: Save the document as an RTF file, run Paradigma (make sure your rules do not mess up the RTF codes), then reopen with Word.
